Focus, Don’t Fall

The resolution placed on my heart recently is simple: Focus.
Life has a way of pulling our eyes away from what matters most. When things are going well, distractions creep in. When things are difficult, despair creeps in. In both moments, our focus drifts. And when our focus drifts, we become vulnerable.
The evil one rarely attacks in ways that are obvious. More often, his work is subtle. Quiet. Hidden in plain sight. It can show up through discouragement, distraction, cultural norms, or the quiet voice that whispers doubt when things feel uncertain. These attacks are rarely dramatic. They are small cracks. A little discouragement. A little distraction. A little compromise. Left unattended, those cracks widen. Wounds deepen. Focus fades. And when our eyes drift away from God, that is exactly where the enemy wants us.
The deeper your faith grows, the more you begin to see this reality. The closer you move toward God’s purpose, the more resistance you may encounter. That should not surprise us. Scripture reminds us again and again that faith is not passive—it is a battle for the heart and the soul.
That is why focus matters so much. Focus keeps us grounded when the world around us feels unstable. Focus keeps despair from turning into defeat. Focus reminds us that no matter how dark things may seem, God is still present and still working.
When the pressure builds, the answer is not to pull away from God. The answer is to lean in. Lean into prayer. Lean into adoration. Lean into fellowship with others who are walking the same path of faith. These are not just spiritual habits. They are spiritual defenses. They keep our hearts steady and our vision clear.
Because the truth is simple: God has a plan. Even when we cannot see it. Even when the path feels uncertain. Even when the world around us seems to be closing in. God sees the whole story when we only see a moment. His timing is perfect, even when our patience is weak. His love is constant, even when our faith feels fragile.
So stay focused. Do not let discouragement become despair. Do not let small cracks become open wounds. Do not let the noise of the world pull your eyes away from the One who holds your life in His hands.
Keep your eyes on Him. Trust Him. Do not waver. Because the truth that never changes is this: He loves you, and He is never letting go.
